Daily Dose of Art -- February 22, 2011
This shot was taken in July 2010 in Ensenada, Mexico. As explained on previous posts, my team was partnering with Homes of Hope and photographed a two day build in which they built a new home for an impoverished family. In this picture, I asked one of the local boys to pick up a handful of sawdust and dirt from the work-site and hold it in his hands. I really liked what it looked like, especially to have little bits of debris falling from his hands. I visualize this as a combination of volunteer's work and Mexico's home soil, all being held together in a child's hands, because the children are the ones in which we need to invest the most. It also makes me think of possibility, opportunity, and hope.
