Daily Dose of Art -- February 17, 2011

I miss Costa Rica.  Absolutely gorgeous landscape and amazing people as well.  I was able to get this shot on August 10, 2010 in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica.  At first glance it looks like a mid-afternoon shot.  However, I actually took this photo at about 9pm in vew low light.  I actually did not raise my ISO very much and kept it pretty low.  I set my aperture at f/22 so that I could keep a lot of the detail in focus.  Instead I simply shot an 8 second exposure to get the misty water movement.

Daily Dose of Art -- February 15, 2011

I'm revisiting my favorite place in the world for today's Daily Dose:  Lake Tahoe.  Like I said when I uploaded another shot on Daily Dose of Art for January 20, this is undoubtedly the most beautiful place I've seen in the continental United States.  I desperately want to make it back for a few days so that I'm able to stock up on some incredible photos! As for this shot, I got lucky.  The two men in the boat coming across my frame right as the sun paints an amazing picture? I'll chalk that one up to luck.

Daily Dose of Art -- February 13, 2011

I liked yesterday's theme of sunset shots from Sarasota so I thought I'd follow up with another one from December 2006.  I love the framing of this shot and all of the elements in it:  the beautiful tree:  the ships on the water, the sunset and dynamic clouds, and the couple on the bench to fill it out.

Again, I love night photography.  This shot was taken in the Sarasota harbor in Sarasota, FL in December of 2006.  I love the stillness of the water and the boats that are scattered throughout.

I love night photography.  This shot is from my old home, Philadelphia, taken on March 18, 2010.  I am content in saying that my apartment in the Piazza (where this shot was taken) will be the coolest apartment I will ever have.  I love this shot that shows the nightlife, the movement of the people, and the colors of the street.  Really brings the shot to life.
