Meet Beatriz. I believe that is how you spell her name. She is a gorgeous little Brazilian girl who I met in Sao Paulo. From the minute I met her the only thing I wanted to do was to get a good shot of her eyes. A few days later, I got what I wanted!

still loving following your daily pics man. I look forward to it everyday!
ReplyDeleteSuggestion maybe: for those of us who don't know much about photography and photoshop (but wouldn't mind knowing more) maybe every once and awhile you could post what kind of edits you did to the original to get it to the point it's at now (for example...did you blur the background on this one, highlight colors, etc?)...maybe that would give us (or maybe just me) a little inspiration on how to make our photographs more jon-like! ...just a thought though!
ReplyDeleteÉ assim mesmo que se escreve seu nome!!Fiquei feliz ao ver essa foto... Está linda!!! Parabéns, Jon, você é um bom fotógrafo!! Obs.: Ela é minha sobrinha!!! =D
ReplyDeletethat's a good idea aaron. I'll start with this one!
ReplyDeleteThe only edits I did on this one were a little bit of the colors.
Shot info: 500 ISO, 75mm, f5.6, 1/1600 shutter speed.
I toned down the saturation slightly and made the pinks and greens a little bit more vibrant to make the colors a bit less deep, therefore making her face pop out a little more. The only major edit I did was to her eyes. I did not photoshop her eyes, instead I simply brightened them. This is my favorite part of every portrait I do. I love being able to see my reflection in a subject's eyes. So, I slightly overexpose the eyes, turn up the saturation and contrast, and also turn up the blacks. The image in her eyes have always been there, I just make it more visible.
Other than filters and cropping, I never do any major editing to my photos. My one consistent edits is making subject's eyes pop.
Hope this helps!
heck yeah bro....that gives me good suggestions for where to begin when goofing off with photoshop and portraits.
